Some of our animals spend weeks or months at PAWS before finding their forever homes. While our staff ensure they are well cared for, nothing compares to the joy and comfort that volunteers bring. From walks and playtime to grooming and gentle affection, volunteers provide the extra love and attention that make a world of difference.
Volunteering at PAWS is deeply rewarding. After completing a volunteer application and orientation, you are welcome to spend time at the kennels during our operating hours, helping in ways that suit your availability and interests.
Children under the age of 16 are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult, ensuring the safety of both volunteers and animals at all times.
Whether you give an hour a week or more, your presence brings comfort, enrichment and hope to animals waiting for their second chance. Come along, lend a hand — you’ll love it, and so will they.
Anyone with a love for animals and a willingness to help is welcome. Volunteers must complete an application and orientation before starting.
Volunteers assist with walking dogs, socialising animals, grooming, cleaning, and providing enrichment and companionship.
No prior experience is required. Our team will show you the ropes and ensure you are comfortable with your tasks.
